July 2026 Prayer Letter

Dear Prayer Partners,

May and June have been filled with travel as I visited many new churches and met many new people along the way. I am deeply grateful that several more churches and individuals have committed to support me recently. It has been a good reminder that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what we ask or think (Eph. 3:20).

I began the month of May by attending a 3-day missions conference at Greater Grace Baptist Church in Arden along with several other missionary families. There was a lot of work and planning put into the event that certainly showed their care and attention towards me and the others visiting, and it was wonderful getting to know the church members throughout the conference. Thank you to Peg Flyckt for a place to stay in her beautiful house.

At Omak First Baptist Church, I reconnected with other acquaintances from the past and enjoyed getting to know new people as well. A big thanks to Jenny Miller for welcoming me so warmly and arranging all of the details. I was also at Manchester Community Church towards the end of the month and was glad to visit this church and meet a missionary family who had previously been involved in Bible translation work as well.

In June, I had meetings with three churches. Despite being caught in a heavy rainstorm, I made it safely to Open Door Baptist Church in Troutdale, OR and I enjoyed meeting the pastor’s family and had many good conversations there. Next was a beautiful drive over to Pomeroy Baptist Church, where I was very generously allowed to present for both Sunday School and morning service and also able to serve at the piano. On a second trip to Oregon, I visited Central Baptist Church in Bend, OR and was encouraged to connect with several fellow Maranatha alumni and staff. Thank you to Steve and Cheryl Carlson for opening their home to me.

Looking ahead, I have fewer church visits scheduled in July and August because I also have training-related tasks to attend to. July 8-15 I will be observing an online linguistics workshop with a Eurasian language group. Please pray that the workshop goes smoothly as the translation team continues analyzing this complex language. In August, I will attend consultant seminar at the office in Grand Rapids, MI. This annual meeting is an opportunity for all state-side BI personnel to share and learn from each other and sharpen our skills and knowledge on various topics within Bible translation.

I am looking forward to all that is ahead, and I pray our faithful God is working in your life and meeting your needs as well. God Bless!

 Pray for:

  • Online linguistics workshop with a Eurasian language group July 8-10, 14 & 15
  • Time of learning and refreshment at consultant seminar Aug 4-14
  • More meetings with churches in the fall (I have 3 meetings scheduled so far, but still have openings in my schedule)
  • Progress on other consultant-in-training tasks

Praise!

  • Very positive experiences and feedback at past church visits
  • My support level is now at 37%
